Rotary goes cross-country

Cross-country naturally suggests a grueling individual sport, but after listening to Canadian’s Lady Cat cross-country team recount their experiences, it changed my opinion to XC truly being a team sport.

President Sarah Rader brought her favorite CISD coach and some of the CISD cross-country team to be our motivational program for Rotary. Coach Aaron Marks was flanked by senior Ella Walser, sophomore Arionna Black, and sophomore Konnar McClendon.

This creamy chicken casserole, from all recipes.com, made with broccoli and packaged stuffing mix would be a new and delicious way to use that leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Have ingredients on hand for Thanksgiving and enjoy!

WE THOUGHT WE WOULD MISS the festivities, which just shows how much we still have to learn about Mexico.

My husband, Peter, and I arrived in San Miguel de Allende on the 2nd of November.

“It’s too bad we’ll miss the Day of the Dead,” I told Peter when he made reservations. I knew a little about the Day of the Dead. I’d seen the elaborate skeleton costumes and the cemeteries filled with flowers and families. I figured it would be all over.

For nonprofit organizations, this is also a time of year that we really focus on our fundraising efforts to help us meet our goals for the new year. At the museum, we’ve identified technological improvements as one of our major needs moving forward.

What's Cookin' in Canadian: Brilliant Ways to Use Crescent Rolls

Chocolate Delights: Take the rolls apart into individual pieces. In the middle of each piece of dough put a fun-size chocolate bar of your choice. Wrap the dough around it. Roll each sealed bundle in melted butter and place on a parchment-lined cooking sheet. Bake according to package directions. Serve warm topped with whipped cream.

Lions hear football report from Wildcat coach, players

The Canadian Lions Club held its weekly noon meeting on Friday, Nov. 4, at the Fire Hall. Boss Lion Bobby Gregg presided over the meeting. Joe Dial led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Joe Wagoner gave the invocation. The members welcomed Wildcat Athletic Director Chris Koetting and team members Sam Kendall, Karson Thompson, and Clay Kendall.
