PEGGY JANE WINTERS HEUSEL

Peggy was born on November 28, 1932, in McAllen, Texas, to August and Mary Winters. Peggy graduated from high school in Hennessey, Oklahoma, in 1950. She graduated on a Friday and married Charles Heusel the following Monday in Hennessey. In 1968, they moved with their children to Canadian, Texas. It was there they homesteaded five acres of land. She moved to Canyon, Texas in September of 2023.

Mary Ellen Tepe Raiford went to her heavenly home on Monday, February 19, 2024, in Yukon, Oklahoma. Mary was born February 20, 1934, in Canadian, Texas to Frederick John Tepe and Pearl Louise Doughty Tepe. Mary graduated from Canadian High School in 1952 and went on to attend Dallas Christian College where she met Donald Lee Raiford whom she married on April 23, 1954. She is a member of West Side Christian Church in Yukon.

Stacey Ann Eubank, 45 of Amarillo stepped into the arms of Jesus, Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, February 20, in Amarillo at the Loft Church with Rick Chadick officiating. Viewing will be at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian, on Tuesday, February 20, from 9 am-8 pm, with family and friend visitation from 6 pm-7:30 pm.

Charles Philip “Phil” Rogers, 78, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Memorial services will be on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas.

Phil was born on July 27, 1945, in Wellington, to Ted and Virginia Rogers. He graduated from Canadian High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1963, and attended the University of Texas in Austin. He worked as a computer technician at NCR for 40 years, retiring in 2005.

Charlotte Ann Schaef, 84 of Canadian passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 5-6:30 pm.

Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday, February 1, at the Canadian Methodist Church with Rev. Lewis Holland, officiating. Burial will follow at the Miami Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Mary Kathleen Herring, better known to her family and friends as Kay, passed peacefully from this life on December 23, 2023, at the age of 88 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Kay was born on August 3, 1935, in Anton, Texas.  Kay was the daughter of Warren and Lydia McCormick Squires.  Kay attended school in Littlefield, Austin, and Lubbock, TX.  She was a 1953 graduate of Lubbock High and attended Texas Tech.

Leo John Swope Jr., 96 years, 2 months, and 6 days, of Canadian, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Reydon, Oklahoma.

Leo John Swope Jr. attended school in Midway and Reydon.

He worked for Stickley Ranch, the railroad in Vaughn, New Mexico, Ulysses Hardware in Ulysses, Kansas, Phillips Rubber, and the Carbon Black plant in Borger, Texas, as well as Northfork Electric.

Carolyn Lee (Bundy) Bibler Lauer, 85, formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went to her heavenly home on January 10, 2024, in Canadian, Texas. Carolyn was born November 3, 1938, at the family farm in Sabula, Pennsylvania to Hiram and Dora (Shoemaker) Bundy, Sr.

Carolyn worked in the medical field. She was an adoring mother, grandma and GiGi. She dearly loved and enjoyed her family, traveling, cooking and serving her church with her gift of hospitality and love for the Lord.
