Canadian kept on trucking Friday night with another lopsided win, blowing out Bangs 56-13 in the Class 3A Division II area round on Friday night at Leo Brittain Field Lions Stadium in Vernon. The game against the Dragons (9-2) was never close.
Senior Wildcat Cross-Country runner Rylun Clark competed in the State XC Meet at Round Rock on Monday and finished the 5K course in 16th-place, with a time of 16:27.18. Clark’s goal following his first state meet last year was to cross this year’s finish line in under 17 minutes. He accomplished that with room to spare, setting a personal record in the event.

National Finals Rodeo qualifier and two-time Prairie Circuit barrel-racing champion Tamara Reinhardt and her homebred mare Yessir Imareddie (“Remilee”) gave a commanding performance at the Outlaw BRWF BBR 4D Jackpot, held Nov. 7 and 8 at the Wilbarger County Events Center in Vernon, Texas.
Rylun Clark will represent Canadian High School at the State Cross-Country Meet, which will be held in Round Rock at Old Settler’s Park on Monday, Nov. 23. A send-off is planned on Friday for Clark and for the Wildcat football team, which heads to Vernon for Friday night’s Area playoffs versus the Bangs Dragons. The entourage will depart from the Wildcat field house at 12:45 pm, and will pass all four school campuses before making its way down Main Street to the highway and heading south out of town. On Oct. 17, Coy, Colt, and Cambree Pittman competed at the American Royal 2020 Junior and Open Show in Kansas City, Missouri. Colt finished Reserve Grand Champion Purebred Heifer in the junior show, and also had a Reserve Division heifer. Coy won Reserve Champion Division Beef Builder Heifer in the show. Canadian High School sent three cross-country runners to the regional 1-3A meet at Lubbock on Monday, and one runner advanced to the state competition, which will be held in Round Rock’s Old Settler’s Park on Monday, Nov. 23.
All three sub-varsity Wildcat teams won their final games last week—and all three earned district championship honors, following in the well-traveled path of the varsity Wildcats, who also capped their regular-season schedule last week with a district trophy, and are off to the races in the bi-district playoffs.
