School's out for the summer, so here are some ways to keep them busy!

Summer Theatre Camp

If you missed the Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, I have condensed my speech for this week’s museum notes. This coming Dec.

I just learned that my ex-husband has remarried. I learned this as we learn about all important life milestones these days: on Facebook.

Morgan Hanes gave his classification talk as a new member of Rotary last week. Morgan was born in Canadian. His parents are Jesse and Jonilyn Hanes. Morgan graduated from Canadian High School in 2003 and attended college, but found this was not the direction he wanted to go. He worked for Chesapeake as a lease operator and for Eagle Rock, but each of these companies either sold or went under. He wanted a more stable career and decided to begin his electrical career by joining Basic Electric. That was five years ago, and he now has his residential journeyman’s license.

Brandon Risley and Amy Tennant announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Haeyvn Risley, to Evan Knobloch, son of Curtis and Miriam Knobloch of Archer City. The wedding ceremony will be held on Aug, 21, 2021, at the First Christian Church in Wichita Falls.

I found this recipe on the YouTube Channel “Pailin’s Kitchen” while researching various Thai meals. It turned out to be a real winner. It’s a cool and refreshing dessert to complete a lovely meal. I’d say it’s more like a sorbet than an ice cream but every bit as delicious. Enjoy!

Shane Harris hosted local representatives from Xcel Energy this week to discuss the March 2021 Winter Storm Uri that left many in South Texas without power. They also touched on why Canadian skated through mostly unscathed. In attendance was Laycee Johnson, community relations manager from Pampa; Wes Reeves, media relations manager out of Amarillo; and the regional manager, Ronnie Walker, with his wife, Debbie.
