I love to read. Read a lot of news. In order to stay reasonably sane, I space my news articles with ones on plants and food. When I came across this photo by Heather Wolf on her www.wisking wolf.com website, it stopped in my tracks. It looked like Spring. Then I read the recipe. Sounds delicious and involves an easy 20-minute prep before chilling. Don’t see why you can’t make it with fresh raspberries or blueberries.

We came across this Sears sale catalog from 1933 over the weekend. What caught my eye immediately is that fabulous pair of ladies’ black heels. I have a pair almost identical to these. However, I paid probably $100 for mine, way more than $1 in 1933.

I agree with Michael Shannon’s comment that risotto can be a pain in the you-know-what. Once you start cooking the risotto, you must stir constantly. However, I can testify that the effort is so worth it. If there had been any leftovers, I would have smuggled them home in my purse.

I CANNOT EXPRESS how refreshing it is to have schoolchildren visit us again! We had Baker Elementary’s third and fourth grades visit us on Tuesday, April 6. Then, later that week, Lefors Elementary’s third, fourth, and fifth grades visited both the museum and The Citadelle on Friday, April 9. We have a few more school visits scheduled for the rest of the school year, and we couldn’t be happier!

I read this recipe from foodtalkdaily.com, and it sounded like a winner. Easy prep, and let’s face it, who doesn’t like nachos? This recipe is made in an ovenproof skillet. Not to worry if you do not have one; once mixture is fully cooked, just transfer to casserole dish before layering cheese and chips. Enjoy!
