Kristi Berry Hargrove bested five other candidates to win election to the Liberty Hill Independent School District board of trustees, Place 6 in Williamson County, Saturday. She received 487 votes (28.05 percent) in a tightly-contested race where the next closest challengers, Cory Milam and Robert Baughn, received 423 and 302 votes, respectively. Hargrove, a graduate of Canadian High School (Class of 1978) brings 25 years’ of experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator to the position. After retiring to Liberty Hill two years ago to be close to her grandchildren, she ran on the campaign slogan “Because Experience Matters.” Liberty Hill is one of the fastest-growing school districts in the state, and four bond propositions totaling nearly $500 million, slated for new school infrastructure and facilities updates, were approved by voters in Saturday’s election.
