IMA LEE (BARTON) DETRIXHE

Body

Ima Lee (Barton) Detrixhe, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 20, 2022. She had been a resident at Mesa View Senior Living Home since 2020. Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 10:30 am at the Higgins United Methodist Church, with burial following at the Higgins Cemetery, in Higgins. Arrangements are by Shaw Funeral Home of Shattuck.

BENJAMIN LEE STURGEON

Benjamin Lee Sturgeon, 85, of Amarillo, died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. Known as “Daddo” to his grandkids, he had a deep faith in God and was gifted with a heart to serve others. He was outgoing; very energetic; and eager to live out his faith in service to his family, friends, and church, and through his legal practice. He lived his life at full speed and “fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7) A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, Dec. 9, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.

FRANCIS EUGENE ‘SHORTY’ OTIS

Shorty Otis, 83, of Canadian, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, in Amarillo. Funeral services were held at 10 am on Monday, Nov. 21, at the Carmichael-Whatley Canadian Chapel with Donald Hill officiating. A private burial followed at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements and burial are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

TERRI LYNN CRAWFORD

Terri passed from her earthly life to eternity with her Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, when she was reunited with her daughter, Sheila Dianne Crawford, and brother, Kenneth Neal Golleher. A celebration of life was held for Terri Lynn Crawford on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Chandler Street Church of Christ in Kilgore.

GAYDEAN BUCHER

Born Oct. 22, 1932, to Verl D. and Leila Litchfield, Gaydean grew up in Higgins. She had two brothers and five sisters. Gaydean and her family were survivors of the 1947 Higgins tornado. Gaydean and Franklin Ray (Frank) Bucher married on Aug. 12, 1950, and raised five children: Cathy, Larry, twins Terry and Jerry, and Franklin Richard (Rick).

May 5, 1935 – November 17, 2021 Hemphill County native Bob Conatser died in his Amarillo home on Nov. 17, 2021, at the age of 86. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 10:30 am, in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery, with Donald Hill, pastor of The River Ministries, officiating.
