CCC Block Party marks end of summer

Body
Canadian Community Center marked the official end of summer vacation Saturday evening with its annual Back-To-School Block Party. Celebrants dined on free hot dogs and ice cream while enjoying a range of entertainment—from music and door prizes, to back-to-school bingo and a bake sale. The Canadian River Beach Club’s ‘Diving for Dollars’ seemed to be the big crowd-pleaser, offering the compelling combination of cold water and cold hard cash on a very hot day. By 7 pm, most of the party-goers had headed to the city pool to cool off with a free swim. “It was a great time,” said CCC Director Ike Julian, “and we appreciate all of the support.”

JEFF QUISENBERRY Greetings to our Baker Elementary School students, parents, friends, and family members! As we prepare for the upcoming 2022-23 school year, please know how excited the staff of Baker Elementary School is to work with each of you in shared support of our most precious people: our children. This year we will seek to establish and develop strong community partnerships, empower our Wildcats to pursue and reach high levels of achievement in all their endeavors, prepare our students for the next step in their journey, and have a great time doing so each day! Our commitment, as the staff of BES, is to collaborate with our students’ parents and extended Wildcat community, and pour ourselves into our kids so that Baker Elementary School is the premier place for our students to learn, grow, and thrive.
