CHS 2022-23 sports season culminates in awards banquet

The following honors were presented to Canadian High School students in Monday night’s annual Athletic Awards Banquet, which was attended by an estimated 300 guests.

The year’s top awards went to Ella Walser, who received the Fighting Heart trophy, and Corbin Throgmorton, winner of the Fightingest Wildcat trophy. Brooklyn Cochran and Preston Miller were honored as Best All-Around Athletes, and Berkley Beedy and Trace Mitchell were celebrated as the Most Courageous Wildcat and Lady Cat.

In addition to those awards, special honors were presented to athletes in all seven of the Canadian High School sports programs.

Defensive Player of the Year – Kenzie Flowers

Most Valuable Player – Leah Moreno

Most Valuable Players – Kelsey Dockray, Teagan Ash, Nathan Wagner

Girls Basketball

Defensive MVP – Samantha Krehbiel

Offensive MVP – Brooklyn Cochran

Boys Basketball

Defensive MVPs – Trace Mitchell and Jaxton Valenzuela

Offensive MVP – Cameron Cavalier

Girls Track

MVPs – Konnar McClendon, Mile Relay Team – Arionna Black, Samantha Krehbiel, Elizabeth Guerrero, Delaney Huntress

Boys Track

MVP – Preston Miller
