DAR Chapter meets
Body
Remelle Farrar was the guest speaker recently at the monthly luncheon of the Comancheria Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, held in the WCTU Library meeting room. Farrar spoke on the Red River Wars of 1874, of which several battles were fought in our local area. This war is labeled as the most important war that is never remembered, and is one that changed history—not only in this state, but also nationally. While much is known about the individual battles, Farrar provided insight into the economic and political reasons for the war, as well as the ramifications and results of the aftermath for these battles.
