Canadian’s seventh-grade Wildcats improved to 2-0 Thursday evening with a 30-0 blowout over Perryton—their second decisive win over the Rangers in two weeks. The Cats put points on the board in all four quarters, while holding the Rangers scoreless.

In their second consecutive contest against the Perryton Rangers, the CMS eighth-grade Wildcats (0-2) showed both determination and progress, battling this time to a 30-14 loss in front of the hometown crowd.

For a second straight week, Canadian didn’t get the result it was looking for. The Wildcats suffered a second straight loss to kick off the 2022 season—this time falling in a 37-36 overtime heartbreaker to a very strong Elk City, Oklahoma, squad last Friday night.

The Canadian Wildcat junior varsity took their A-game on the road last Thursday to Highland Park’s Hornet Stadium, where they delivered a 51-0 shellacking to the Plainview Bulldogs. That game was as close as it was ever going to get when the opening buzzer sounded.

Junior Football League Wildcats split wins with Wheeler Canadian’s Junior League Wildcats shared wins with Wheeler in football games played here last Saturday. The third- and fourth-grade Cats won their match 28-6, while the fifth- and sixth-graders were held scoreless in a 0-20 loss.

It was another strong showing for both the Canadian boys’ and girls’ varsity cross-country teams at the Wolf Creek Classic in Perryton last Saturday.

It was a brutal week for Wildcat football. The Canadian Wildcat JV was bushwhacked by the Bushland Falcons, who swept into town Thursday night with their talons sharpened.
