Canadian High School junior Logan Gatlin was named the 3A state UIL champion in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate competition late Wednesday afternoon, May 26, and awarded the gold medal. The tournament was hosted through a virtual format this year due to COVID-19.

In the final week of school, nearly 300 pre-K through fourth-grade students were invited, over a period of four days, to Canadian's Dairy Queen where they made their own Blizzards. Each student was give carte blanche to completely customize their DQ Blizzard to their liking.

Friday evening’s promotion ceremony for the Canadian Middle School eighthgrade class—85 members strong—was held in the CHS gymnasium, due to their sheer number. Despite that, the annual rite of passage into high school was executed flawlessly and in quick order.

The Canadian Wildcat Band qualified three ensembles and four soloists for the state solo and ensemble competition this year. In order to do so, the musicians must earn a first-division rating on a Class 1 ensemble or a memorized Class 1 solo.
