Body Midwestern State University announces fall 2021 graduates CHS alumna Bailey Brooke Bryant graduated cum laude from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, in fall 2021. Bryant received a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Body Students of both Baker Elementary and Canadian Middle School topped the competition in the District UIL Academic Contest held on Dec. 3, 2021, at Bushland ISD.

Body Leo Avila, a senior member of the Canadian High School Band, will perform with the Texas All-State Band in San Antonio, on Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2022 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention.

Body Dockray named to Abilene Christian University’s Fall 2021 Dean’s Honor Roll Peyton Dockray, of Canadian, was named to the Abilene Christian University Fall 2021 Dean’s Honor Roll. Dockray is a sophomore majoring in Kinesiology.

Body Many a bucket list has been sidelined by the pandemic. Most of my friends had elaborate travel plans they had to abandon. Vicki and Larry wanted to achieve their goal of visiting every continent. Louise and Jim had to call off a trip to France.

Body The Canadian Arts Alliance hosted their annual Christmas Concert at the CMS Auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 12. Music teachers Amy Carter, Dana Cook, and Betty Bynum, as well as an appreciative audience, listened to students perform holiday favorites.

Body Subdued best describes Christmas decorations this year in my West Texas village. After the elaborate Halloween and Thanksgiving displays on my street, I was expecting even grander Christmas décor.

Body Marcee Cooke will be graduating from Texas A&M University on Saturday, Dec. 18, with her Bachelor of Science degree.
