Final Fall ’23 Commencement Numbers in for WT; Dean’s, President’s Lists Announced

CANYON, Texas — The final tally is 878 graduates for West Texas A&M University’s fall 2023 commencement. 

Overall, the University awarded 649 baccalaureate degrees, 215 master’s degrees and 14 doctoral degrees at the Dec. 9 commencement ceremonies, following procedural confirmation from the University’s seven deans.

School board hears reports on cybersecurity, track and gym repairs in December meeting

In their December 7 meeting, the Canadian ISD Board of Trustees received reports on cybersecurity issues with the District’s network that were addressed; were informed of off-campus problems with students accessing inappropriate content on their school devices, and how those problems were being addressed; and received an update on repairs to the CHS Auxiliary Gymnasium and to the track.

Comptroller’s Office accepts Match the Promise Scholarship applications through Dec. 31

AUSTIN—Comptroller Glenn Hegar today reminded Texans that the deadline to apply for Texas Match the Promise Foundation℠ scholarship awards is Dec. 31.

Match the Promise scholarship awards are available for third through ninth graders:

• who are enrolled in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund® (TTPF), the state's prepaid college tuition plan;

• whose families have an adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less; and
