For more than 20 years, the Lone Star Angel Project (LSAP) has been quietly making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in Hemphill County. As a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, LSAP is dedicated to helping local children meet basic needs, overcome challenges, and have opportunities to grow into healthy, productive members of their community.

Lone Star Angel Project is completely funded through tax-deductible donations from generous individuals, businesses and organizations. Every dollar donated is used to assist children in need living in Hemphill County.  Depending on the circumstances, assistance may include dental and medical care, clothing, groceries, books, school supplies, learning enrichment, counseling services, scholarships and other essential needs. 

The organization’s impact was especially evident in 2024, when LSAP provided more than $60,000 in assistance to children and families affected by the wildfires. This tremendous response demonstrated not only the organization’s commitment to local children, but also the generosity and compassion of the Hemphill County community and its donors. 

At the heart of LSAP is a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to dream, grow, and achieve their potential, regardless of the circumstances they may face. By providing support when families need it the most, LSAP helps remove barriers that can prevent children from succeeding. 

The organization is led by a dedicated board of community members who share a passion for helping children. Their work ensures that donations are directed where they can make the greatest difference.
