Abbott appoints Peyton to Texas Water Development Board

Body Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed George B. Peyton V to the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) for a term set to expire on Feb. 1, 2027. The board provides leadership, planning, and financial and technical assistance for the responsible development of water for the state of Texas.

Body Canadian Visitors Center • Friday, Saturday & Monday The official 4th of July Welcome and Information Center, located at 119 N. 2nd St., will be open on Friday, July 1, 9-11 am and 1-5 pm; Saturday, July 2, 11 am-4 pm; and after the parade on Monday, July 4, from 1-4 pm.

City sealcoating to include previously unpaved streets

Body Work will begin at the end of this month on annual city and county street sealcoating projects. For the first time in many years, that project will include the application of a double-course treatment on several sections of previously unpaved roads within the city limits.
City employees Filiberto Herrera and Luis Vigil (in orange vest) prepared a drainage gutter on Lamar Street last week, in preparation for a road improvement project that will result in the first-time paving of six blocks of streets.
