Sylvia Guerrero is candidate for County and District Clerk

Sylvia Guerrero announced her candidacy for Hemphill County and District clerk this week, saying she would seek the Republican Party nomination in the March 1, 2022, primary election. “I have been employed in the Hemphill County and District Clerk's office since March 1, 2014, starting as deputy clerk, and am now chief deputy clerk,” Guerrero said. “I have lived in Canadian for 27 years, and graduated from CHS in 1999. My husband, Hugo, and I are proud parents of Israel, who graduated from CHS in 2020; Elizabeth, who is in ninth grade; and Hector, who is in seventh grade.”

AMARILLO—In 2021, people in Texas Panhandle and across the country faced great emergency needs as the ongoing pandemic exacerbated the challenges related to severe disasters. “Our most vulnerable neighbors are facing unique and pressing struggles when crisis strikes on top of COVID-19,” Kiley Murray, executive director, American Red Cross serving the Texas Panhandle said.

Chamber board members and staff held the ribbon while new business owner Linda Vigil made the ceremonial first cut Monday at noon, as she celebrated the opening of Perla’s Flowers and Gift Shop, located at 216 S. 2nd St., No. 3.
