Rural Texans share personal stories to inspire confidence in COVID-19 vaccines

AUSTIN—Rural Texans are playing a prominent role in a new national PSA campaign developed by the Ad Council in partnership with COVID Collaborative. The new PSAs, airing across Texas now, showcase the firsthand impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines for seven individuals and families, encouraging Texans who may still be questioning the vaccines to seek the latest accurate information about getting vaccinated.

Senate resolution recognizes Dec. 18 as ‘Wreaths Across America Day’

WASHINGTON, D.C. —The Senate unanimously passed a resolution, introduced by U.S. Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King, designating Saturday, Dec. 18, as “Wreaths Across America Day.” A convoy of volunteers will travel from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery to lay Maine-made balsam wreaths at the headstones of American veterans interred there.

PART I Following a bountiful and lip-smacking 113th Annual WCTU Bazaar on Friday—a longstanding holiday tradition—it was only logical to continue Canadian’s seasonal celebration with one of its newest events: the 2nd Annual Santa Claus Shuffle 5K Run and Elf Walk. All manner of jingle-belled and bedazzled runners, walkers, and baby-buggy riders shook off the previous day’s over-feasted lethargy—and even real runners, like Lady Cat cross-country stars Konnar McClendon and Arionna Black (in photo above right), pulled on running shoes, and greeted the chill air and crisp light of a beautiful Saturday morning at Sunset Park.
