Monday’s filing deadline brought a flurry of last-minute announcements by candidates in the March 1 primaries, which will determine major party nominees in the Nov. 8 general election.

Due to redistricting, a lot is at stake in the midterm election. Every statewide office—including governor and lieutenant governor—will be on the ballot, as will every seat in the Texas Legislature.
