Canadian will carry an impressive 15 athletes to compete at the UIL Region I-3A track-and-field meet set for Friday and Saturday at Abilene Christian University.

It wasn’t the best of weeks for the Canadian Lady Cats’ softball squad who were searching for their first District 1-3A win. The Lady Cats fell to Dalhart last Saturday 15-3, and then were beaten by No. 15-ranked Bushland 29-1 on Monday.

A pair of Canadian golfers will try and make their mark at the upcoming Region 1-3A Golf Tournament set for the Shady Oaks Golf Course in Baird starting Monday.
A score of 7-under-par won the first Thursday scrambles of the season last week. Members of the winning team were Shawn Davis, Wes Hathaway, Derek Cooper, Brent Clapp, Juan Guillen, and Martha Cooper. Gary Prater and Rachael Bartlett claimed bragging rights for the top men’s and ladies’ long drives.
The Canadian Wildcat boys track and field team held off Bushland to claim the District 1-3A championship, while the Lady Cats came in third at Falcons Stadium in Bushland on Thursday. The Wildcats racked up 182 team points to Bushland’s 165 points to claim the district title.
