City council grants $10,000 in HOT funding for April 2023 beef cattle conference

City council members voted unanimously Monday evening to grant a request by Hemphill County’s Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent Andy Holloway for $10,000 in hotel occupancy tax (HOT) funding for this year’s beef cattle conference, which will be held here on April 25-26.

School trustees report progress on auxiliary gym issues, discuss resurfacing of damaged track

Two years after discovering construction defects that allowed water to enter the new auxiliary gymnasium at Canadian High School, CISD has retained the Walsh Gallegos Law Firm to represent the district in its efforts to make the construction manager and architect rectify the problem and repair the damaged floor.
