Body Candidate filing begins tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 17, for candidates seeking a place on the ballot in the May 4 city council and hospital, school and water district board elections. Filing ends on Friday, Feb. 16, at 5 pm.

Body The Hemphill County Hospital District now has a new member on its board of directors: Whitney Jones. Jones won 66 votes in Saturday’s election, over current board member Jesse Hanes’s 48. Cory Pittman received 99 votes and Colby Leach, 104.
