PORT LAVACA — Orla Boyde Curnutt, 88, of Port Lavaca, passed away, Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Canadian, Texas, to the late Orla Hezekiah and Marie Elizabeth Curnutt.

Jean Arnold Martindale, 87, of Pampa, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, peacefully with his family by his side, Memorial services will be 10 am, Tuesday, October 31, at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Mark Lang, officiating.

Carl “Jack” Vernon Hurter, 95, of Canadian, passed away on October 23, 2023 in Canadian, Texas. A private family memorial graveside will be held at a later date in Higgins Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Rita Meraz, 90, of Canadian, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, in Canadian. Mass will be 1 pm, Friday, October 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Canadian with Rev. Marco Antonio Gonzalez officiating.

Jeffrey Paul Stephens, 63, passed on to his eternal home on Sunday, October 15, 2023. A memorial service celebrating Jeff’s life will be held on Friday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church of Edmond.

Nancy Diana Wilson-Petree was born to Roy Doyle, Sr. and Louise Wilson on June 26, 1948, in Canadian, Texas.

David Lee Westbrook, Sr., 78-year-old resident of Grand Lake (Crace Shores), Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 12, 1945, in Brownfield, to Arthur and Minnie Pearl (Pinion) Westbrook.

The Rev. Canon William D. [Bill] Nix, Jr., 82, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at his home in Fort Worth, TX.

Judy Rader Mann, 67, of Canadian, stepped into her heavenly home with a triumphant smile Monday, Oct 2, 2023, in Amarillo with the love of her life, Matt, by her side. Funeral services will be 2 pm on Friday, October 6, at the Canadian Methodist Church with Rev. David Gerhardt, pastor, officiating.

Patricia "Tricia" Pearl Paris, of Snyder, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 29, 2023.
