Mr. James Edward Chappell slipped the bonds of earth on Friday morning, September the 17th, at Mesa View Assisted Living in Canadian, Texas. He was 97 years and 11 months old. A visitation took place Wednesday, September 22, at Robertson Funeral Directors. Funeral services were held in Memphis on Thursday, September 23, at the First United Methodist Church, 121 North 8th Street, with Rev. Matt Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.

Brian Eugene Karnes, 47, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Aug. 8, 2021, after a long four-month fight against COVID. A memorial service was held on Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Methodist Church in Higgins with the Rev. Brad Word officiating.

Al’Louise Suthers Ramp, of Canadian, died on Monday, Aug. 24. She was an independent businesswoman, ranch owner, national leader for the Daughters of American Revolution, historian and genealogist, civic volunteer serving on countless boards, world traveler, a lady, a mother, a wife, a friend, and so much more. A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church on Friday afternoon, Sept. 3.

Jim Purser, 81, of Canadian, stepped away with Jesus, Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Lubbock, Texas. Family visitation with family and friends was held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Carmichael-Whatley Canadian Funeral Home. Graveside services were conducted at 10 am on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jake Perkins, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
