MARVIN ‘REV’ KNOX

Marvin Knox, a Baptist pastor who served churches more than six decades, died Jan. 16, 2022, in Marlow, Oklahoma. He was 88. Services were held on Friday, Jan. 21, at Liberty Baptist Church, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Interment took place on Monday, Jan. 24, at Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls.

Jackie Powell, 81, died Friday, Jan. 21, at University Medical Center in Lubbock after a fall at Mesa View Senior Living in Canadian. Private graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Ben Mathers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

KELSEY BRYAN

Kelsey Bryan went home to be with Jesus on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, in Canadian, following a two-year battle with bladder cancer. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the First United Methodist Church of Canadian, with Rev. David Gerhardt officiating. Canadian arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

ALICE KAY SHAW HILL

Alice Kay Shaw Hill was born in Hollywood, California, to Harold (Hal) R. and Alice Greenhalgh Shaw on March 30, 1940. She grew up in the family home in North Hollywood, California, after which she enrolled at UCLA and lived on campus. In the early 1960s, Alice took a job as an apprentice music editor at Warner Bros. Studio. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Arnold Hill, of Canadian, who was working at the studio as a stunt man.

Jeane Spencer Bartlett, 95, of Amarillo, died on Jan. 2, 2022. Memorial services under the direction of Boxwell Brothers were held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Private graveside services were conducted at Llano Cemetery.
