What’s Cookin’ in Canadian: Shrimp with Parsley

Body
After a generous gift of freshly cut curly parsley, I looked in the freezer to determine how to best use it. Good parsley tastes like summer to me, green and fresh. This recipe could be used with chicken bits instead of shrimp. I foraged in the refrigerator and used what veggies I had on hand. You could use many others as well. Enjoy!

Music on the Chamber Lawn draws a happy crowd Thursday

Body
The Buster Bledsoe Band did a fine job of entertaining this group of music lovers on the Chamber lawn last Thursday evening, and the shade trees may even have taken their minds off of the gathering June heat. This was the first, and last, Music on the Chamber Lawn event of 2021, but tonight and the following Thursday, the same venue will host the Chamber’s free Screen on the Green. The film will start rolling around 9-ish pm when the evening light dims.No reservations required. The Canadian Community Center will be selling all the snacks you could possibly need for a lovely night at the movies.

Summer Vacation 2020 vs. 2021

Body
Over the past 16 months, we’ve seen daily routines and annual traditions adapt to the changing regulations, lockdowns, and mandates. Last summer, the COVID quarantine caused family vacations, personal trips, and summer camps to be canceled, postponed, or reimagined. However, this summer the horizon looks brighter. While there may still be some restrictions for outings, such as masks or social-distancing requests, normal is making a return in 2021.
