The Postscript: Lower Expectations

Body
It is a year of lower expectations. Every year, there is a chorus of folks urging us to lower our expectations for the holidays—buy less, consume less, worry less about having a picture-perfect holiday, and spend more time reflecting on what the holiday means to us.

This Saturday, we continue our tradition of free ornament crafts. We will be open from 10 am to noon. One of our wonderful board members, Paula Forrest, assembled 50 pinecone reindeer ornament kit bags for us to hand out. We thank you, Paula!

To sleep or not to sleep…

Body
Melissa Bundy, a sleep specialist with Hemphill County Hospital (HCH), did her best to enlighten us Rotarians on the ageold problem of not sleeping. Bundy certainly comes certified in her field with the following qualifications: registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT), registered sleep technologist (RST), and certified rural health clinic professional (CRHCP), combined with many years and hours of work in the sleepstudy field. Melissa also serves as the director of the Canadian Family Physicians Clinic and the Harvester Health and Wellness Clinic.

We are thankful that we have made it to Thanksgiving! This infamous year of 2020 is almost over, thank goodness! I would like to share a historic Thanksgiving theme artifact to commemorate the holiday. This postcard was mailed in 1909 to Clyde Cannedy in Canadian from Fannie Shaw in Cataline.
