The Canadian softball team showed improvement over the past week, earning an 11-3 non-district home win against Sunray, followed by a gutsy performance in a District 1-3A home opener against Dalhart, though, the Lady Cats fell short of a 27-23 final.

About 11:40 pm on Tuesday, March 16, several cars of a BNSF train were derailed on the tracks just east of Glazier by what Amarillo National Weather Service officials described as 80-mph straight-line winds about 2 miles east of Glazier. The train was traveling from Kansas City to Temple.

My son has reached the age where I am not that cool anymore. I’m not a complete idiot because he’s not a teenager yet, but I’m definitely not cool like I used to be in his eyes. I don’t know the right music that kids listen to, and he is teaching me new slang that doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m not cool anymore. But I used to be, right?
