The Hemphill County Hospital District now has a new member on its board of directors: Whitney Jones. Jones won 66 votes in Saturday’s election, over current board member Jesse Hanes’s 48. Cory Pittman received 99 votes and Colby Leach, 104.

The City Council and CISD Board elections were both cancelled due to the lack of contested races.

On the City Council, the two-year terms of Mayor Terrill Bartlett, and council members Jonilyn Hanes and Matt Cipollone, expired. All three filed for re-election and won uncontested races.

For the School Board, two three-year terms were filled by incumbents Rudy Godino and Heath Mitchell. Ashton Cates Macias filed for Larry Smith’s unexpired term. That term continues through May 2025. All three won uncontested races.
