Body Last Friday evening, Feb. 29, the Canadian Wildcats (15-2) took on the Ballinger Bearcats (26-8) in Guthrie for the area championship.

Body Coming off of the first victory in the program’s history, the Canadian Lady Cat softball team headed down to Wichita Falls to participate in a tournament.

Body The Canadian Tennis Tournament hosted 12 different schools from the Texas Panhandle on Thursday, in an event held—due to weather delays—at the Amarillo Tennis Center.

Body The CMS seventh-grade girls won the Wheeler track meet with 246 points. Spearman came in second with 115 points. The eighth-grade girls also took first with 190 points, with Wellington in second place with 174.5 points.

Body On Monday, Feb. 24, the Canadian Wildcats (14-2) took on the Brownfield Cubs (11-21) in a contest for the bi-district championship.

Body CANADIAN VS. MEMPHIS, TUESDAY, FEB. 25

Body Canadian’s Lady Cat and Wildcat golf teams competed last Thursday in their first invitational golf meet of the season at Burkburnett’s River Creek Golf Course. The day was shortened to nine holes due to the cold weather.

Body Canadian’s 3rd- and 4th-grade boys basketball team beat the Shamrock A-Team 16-13 in last Saturday’s Shamrock Basketball Tournament to win the tournament.

Body The Canadian Lady Cats went up against No. 4 Idalou Monday evening in a tough bi-district playoff at Amarillo High. The young Canadian team couldn’t find it’s footing, losing 69-37 against the seasoned Idalou Lady Cats.
