Laurie Ezzell Brown | The Record In their first game of the season here Tuesday, Canadian’s Lady Cat junior varsity basketball team lost a hard-fought 32-33 game to Tascosa’s Lady Rebels.

The Canadian Wildcat sub-varsity teams wrapped up the final week of their football season with one last clean sweep against the Dimmitt Bobcats. The three squads got the job done in dominating fashion, amassing a total of 130 points to their opponents’ 24.

Canadian High School’s Lady Cats ended a strong season by claiming a 12th-place finish at Saturday’s UIL Class 3A state crosscountry meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Canadian finished with 248 points in the race. Whitesboro won the team state championship with 90 points.

The Lady Cat cross-country team will close the season out when they compete at the UIL Class 3A state cross-country meet at 8:30 am on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park.
