Baker Elementary invites local veterans to breakfast on Nov. 11 To honor the veterans of our community for their service, Baker Elementary School will host a Veterans Day breakfast in the BES cafeteria on Friday, Nov.

Monday, Oct. 11, was Canadian ISD’s annual Community Give Back Day, a day in which middle and high school students dedicate themselves to community service. In addition to boosting a student’s chances of acquiring scholarships and college entry, community service is good for the soul.

SOMETIMES BAD NEWS is good news. That’s how I see the news this week that Micron did not choose Lockhart, Texas as the location of its new chip manufacturing plant. Micron chose Clay, New York, a suburb of Syracuse.
