Bryant, Merket to represent CHS in regional golf tourney

Canadian’s Ben Bryant and Briley Merket have advanced as individuals to play in the upcoming Region I-3A Golf Tournament. Both Bryant and Merket highlighted Canadian’s performances during the final round of the District 1-3A Tournament at the Ross Rogers Golf Complex, Mustang layout, on Monday.

Reinhardt and Yessir Imareddie to compete in Ram National Circuit Finals

When rising COVID-19 numbers caused the relocation of last year’s invitation-only Ram National Circuit Finals, Canadian barrel racer Tamara Reinhardt was disappointed to have missed her opportunity to compete in the Kissimmee, Florida, event. The finals were held in the Stampede Arena in Greeley, Colorado, instead, and Reinhardt and her mare, Yessir Imareddie, finished out of the money following a very successful year.

Lady Cat Softball struggles following two district losses

The Canadian softball team suffered a couple of tough losses in District 1-3A play this past week. The Lady Cats fell to River Road 20-5, at home Tuesday, and were beaten by powerhouse Bushland 27-0, last Friday. Canadian is now 3-15 overall, while still seeking its first district win on the year, currently sitting at 0-3.

CHS golf teams in third-place after first District 1-3A tourney

Canadian’s Wildcat and Lady Cat golf teams both sit in third place after the first round of the District 1-3A golf tournament that was held at Ross Rogers Golf Complex in Amarillo on Monday. The tournament was played on the WildHorse Course, and the second and final round will be held on the Mustang side of Ross Rogers this coming Monday, March 29.

Canadian grad Hudson claims historic 2A state title at Clarendon

SAN ANTONIO— It was a storybook ending for a first-year coach and a team full of underclassmen. In what became a theme at the Alamodome during the state championships last weekend, the Clarendon Broncos used an exciting finish to cap off its first Class 2A state championship in school history, downing the Grapeland Sandies in a thrilling 64-60 victory Saturday morning.
