Body The Canadian girls and boys cross country teams are set to compete at the Region I-3A cross country meet at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock on Monday. The Lady Cats will run at 2 p.m., followed by the Wildcats at 2:30 p.m.

Body Despite missing several players due to injury, No. 8-ranked Canadian had no issue handling Highland Park at home, 62-8, on Friday night in a District 3-3A Division II clash.

Body It was a little hard to ignore the Frank Phillips College NIRA Rodeo held here in Canadian last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Body The Canadian girls cross-country team held off Bushland by 1 point to claim the District 1-3A cross-country championship on Wednesday afternoon at the Palo Duro Lake Park in Spearman. Canadian tallied 49 points to edge Bushland, with 50 points, to capture the district crown.

Body JUNIOR VARSITY WILDCATS Canadian’s Wildcat junior varsity rolled out 343 yards of total offense to only 18 total yards for their hosts last Thursday evening at Highland Park. Given those stats, the lopsided 42-0 Canadian win was no surprise to anyone.

Body Canadian was given everything it wanted from Spearman and then some. But good teams find ways to win when it counts, and the Wildcats snuck out of Lynx Stadium with a thrilling 38-37 victory over the Lynx in a District 3-3A Division II clash Friday night.
