OBITUARY: RYAN EDWARD STANTON
September 16, 2004 — August 1, 2026
Ryan Edward Stanton, age 21, of Hideaway, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Tyler. Ryan was born on September 16, 2004, in Plano. He spent the last 15 years in Hideaway after moving from Canadian, where many of his earliest memories were made.
Ryan loved being outdoors and was happiest when he was on the water, on the golf course, casting a fishing line, or spending time with family and friends. Whether he was playing football, baseball, or simply enjoying a day outside, he brought energy, laughter, and a genuine love for life. He had a kind heart, an easy smile, and a way of making those around him feel welcome. The memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Ryan is survived by his devoted parents, Shane and Heather Stanton of Hideaway; his beloved sister, Lauren Stanton of Hideaway; his grandfather, Maurice Stanton of Quitman; his grandmother, Sue Ratliff of Canadian; his aunt and uncles, Melody and Ramiro Nunez; Kevin "Uncle Kemo" and Jasmyn Ratliff; Keith and Jenna Ratliff; as well as many beloved cousins, treasured friends, and extended family who will forever carry his memory with them.
A Celebration of Ryan’s Life was held at The Villa (Event Venue) in Tyler on Thursday, August 6. Everyone whose life was touched by Ryan was welcomed to share stories and remember the moments that made him so special. Attendees were encouraged to wear something that reminded them of Ryan and the memories they shared with him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org) in Ryan’s honor. Through your support, may Ryan’s memory inspire hope, compassion, and help for those who may be struggling.
