Body THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY: This 18 to 20-inch prairie rattler was spotted lurking under a lawn mower in an alley about halfway up Willard Street, between Willard and Main, last week. It was described as a young rattler, with only one button...but still plenty lethal.

Canadian’s post office makeover all first-class

Body In 2015, the USPS was offering a $1,000 grant incentive for post office beautification. Canadian’s postmistress, Marci Blau, called Kim McKinney to ask about the possibility of about putting in sod to make the barren post office façade a little more attractive.

Labor Day Colors

Body Flags were waving all over town this Labor Day thanks to Canadian’s Rotarty Club, District 1645. For a $60 annual subscription, club members install flags at your home or business on Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Fall Foliage and Veterans Day.

Stop the Bleed training resumes here Sept. 26

Body Be prepared is an excellent motto, not only for Boy Scouts, but for all of us. A quick look at the latest headlines is a reminder that we never ever know what the day has in store for us. With that in mind, Canadian’s American Legion Post 56 is resuming Stop the Bleed training.
