TEMPLE – The Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) and the Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation Districts are joining organizations across the state in a campaign to highlight the importance of voluntary land stewardship in Texas. Soil and Water Stewardship Week is April 30 through May 7, 2023, and the focus this year is “One Water.”

Comptroller advises Texas Businesses: April 17 is Deadline for Filing Property Tax Renditions

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reminds business owners that April 17 is the deadline to file property tax renditions with their county appraisal districts. Different deadlines apply for certain regulated property.

A rendition is a list of the taxable inventory, furniture and fixtures, machinery, equipment and other property owned or managed as of Jan. 1 each year. The appraisal district may use the information to set property values.

USDA announces additional assistance for distressed farmers facing financial risk

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) this week announced that beginning in April it will provide approximately $123 million in additional, automatic financial assistance for qualifying farm loan program borrowers who are facing financial risk, as part of the $3.1 billion to help distressed farm loan borrowers that was provided through Section 22006 of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The announcement builds on financial assistance offered to borrowers through the same program in October 2022.
