‘Killer Among Us’ sign is vandalism target Friday night

At exactly 10:41 pm on Friday night, May 27, someone driving what appears to be a black pickup truck, traveling south on 4th Street, pulled up to the corner of Main Street. The vehicle stops. The driver gets out and walks in front of the pickup toward the by-now-familiar “There’s a Killer Among Us” sign, which seeks information connected to the Thanksgiving 2016 disappearance and subsequent death of then-Canadian High School senior Thomas Brown.

Cornhole Classic draws a crowd Saturday, raises funds for Junior Football League

Body
Last Friday evening’s Cornhole Classic attracted 32-teams and 64 players to compete in the tournament, along with plenty of onlookers just happy to be inside the cool shade of Jones Pavilion, enjoying the action, and dining on Beau Bundy’s famous brisket sandwiches. The event was organized by Robert Reyes and Luke Mills to raise funds for the Canadian Wildcat Junior Football League. Proceeds from the tournament, raffle, and food sales totaled over $3,400, which will go into new equipment for the young Wildcats. Reyes expressed his appreciation to the sponsors, without whom the tournament would not have been possible. Wildcat Art’s Catwalk Courtyard project will repurpose unused high school courtyard

Body
CHS art instructor Karol Ann Michelsen and her Art 3 and Art 4 students have made plans to rehabilitate and repurpose a longneglected courtyard (shown in photo below) at the high school and to create, instead, what will be named the Catwalk Courtyard. They are hoping that the public will donate “gentlyused” materials that can be incorporated into the new outdoor space.
