OBITUARY: Eva ‘Darlene’ Eads

Body

Eva “Darlene” Eads (MeMo), 76, of Pampa, was born July 6, 1948 in Canadian, Texas, to Carl Thomas and Eva Marie Hornback. She was welcomed into her Lord and Savior’s arms on February 27, 2025, in Pampa.

Services will be held at 10 am on March 4, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Jim Sinyard officiating, assisted by Austin Hayden. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-7:30 pm.

Maria Antonia Sanchez, 68, of Canadian passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, in Canadian, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 19, in the Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Chapel in Canadian with Richard Cerbantez, officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, February 18, from 12-8 pm, and Wednesday, February 19, from 9 am until service time.

John Wayne Floyd of Canadian passed into his heavenly home on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Canadian with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, February 6, at the First Baptist Church of Canadian. Burial with Military Honors will be 2 pm at the Erick Cemetery in Erick, Oklahoma. OBITUARY: LARRY ‘RABBIT’ WRIGHT

Body

Rabbit Wright, 83, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Deming, New Mexico. Rabbit was born July 18, 1941 in Glazier, Texas, to Clint and Annie Wright. 

He served in the Army. As part of his service, he was in Vietnam. He met the love of his life Marie Hall and married her December 31, 1981 in Canadian. He worked at Canadian ISD as the Transportation Coordinator until he retired in 2004. He and Marie moved to Deming in 2004. He became an active member in Helping Hands and Meals on Wheels while there.

Joe Calvin Wheeler, 83, of Skellytown, passed away at University Medical Center in Lubbock on Saturday, February 1, 2025. A memorial was held on Sunday. Burial will follow in the Miami Cemetery at a later date.

Joe was born to Alton “Tony” Wheeler and Eula Fay Larson in Canadian, Texas on April 13, 1941.

OBITUARY: ROBERT WILSON EZZELL

Robert Wilson Ezzell, 76, of Canadian, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Capstone Healthcare of Perryton.

Robert was born on August 13, 1948, to Ben and Nancy Ezzell at the Hemphill County Hospital. He attended Canadian public schools and graduated with the Canadian High School Class of 1966. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon, where he lived and worked before returning to Canadian.

Billy Wayne Schafer, 64, of Canadian, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Canadian.

Memorial graveside services will be at 11 am on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Ellis County, Oklahoma with Shawn Davis officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

The family will meet at the funeral home at 10 am on Saturday and lead everyone to the cemetery.
