Tennis players from area schools descended on the Canadian High School tennis courts last Tuesday, Feb. 22, with rackets in hand, to take full advantage of sunny skies and relatively mild temperatures. By Wednesday morning, winter had returned, temperatures had dropped again, and bitter temperatures brought across-the-board cancellations of the week’s remaining spring sports events.

March is Women’s History Month. A time to commemorate, study, observe, and celebrate the vital role of women in American history. Here at the River Valley Pioneer Museum, we’d like to invite you to take a closer look at the impact women have had, and continue to make, on Hemphill County. Several of our exhibits feature prominent women from our community, as well as items used and previously owned by locals.

Anna Booze introduced Lisa Gill of Lisa32 to her fellow Rotarians last week. Gill has advanced certification in skincare formulation, natural and organic skincare formulation, and FDA compliance and regulation training, and is a certified aromatherapist. Lisa32 officially opened in 2013.
