What’s new at your county library

Body
NOTE: The Record is pleased to announce a recurring series featuring new books and program reminders for the Hemphill County Library. The library has a plethora of resources for children and adults of all ages. My motley crew of boys thoroughly enjoys our weekly treks there. Owen, my 3-year-old, enthusiastically pulls every Halloween-or Christmas-themed book from the shelves to “read to me” while my 1-year-old points at the fish or plays hide and seek with LEGOs. Thus far, we have successfully located all the missing pieces.

Lions Club welcomes Coach Chris Koetting Oct. 21

Body
The Canadian Lions Club held its weekly noon meeting on Friday, Oct. 21, at the Fire Hall. Coach Koetting gave a brief summary of last week’s game against Spearman, noting that we probably should have scored more than we did, but Spearman played hard. “We made some mistakes, and they were not going to let us get rolling again,” Koetting said. “Our defense played really well; our offensive and defensive lines are both really good this year.”

Body
