The day group of the Friendship Quilt Guild met on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Community Worship Center in Perryton. It was reported that 92 doll quilts were shipped to the CSX Santa Train Project. This marks the 80th anniversary of the project that distributes toys and other items to children and their parents along the 110-mile route through the Appalachia area of Kentucky and Tennessee.

Rotary goes cross-country

Body

Cross-country naturally suggests a grueling individual sport, but after listening to Canadian’s Lady Cat cross-country team recount their experiences, it changed my opinion to XC truly being a team sport.

President Sarah Rader brought her favorite CISD coach and some of the CISD cross-country team to be our motivational program for Rotary. Coach Aaron Marks was flanked by senior Ella Walser, sophomore Arionna Black, and sophomore Konnar McClendon.

WE THOUGHT WE WOULD MISS the festivities, which just shows how much we still have to learn about Mexico.

My husband, Peter, and I arrived in San Miguel de Allende on the 2nd of November.

“It’s too bad we’ll miss the Day of the Dead,” I told Peter when he made reservations. I knew a little about the Day of the Dead. I’d seen the elaborate skeleton costumes and the cemeteries filled with flowers and families. I figured it would be all over.

The end of the year is often a time of planning for the new year. For nonprofit organizations, this is also a time of year that we really focus on our fundraising efforts to help us meet our goals for the new year. At the museum, we’ve identified technological improvements as one of our major needs moving forward.

What's Cookin' in Canadian: Brilliant Ways to Use Crescent Rolls

Body
Chocolate Delights: Take the rolls apart into individual pieces. In the middle of each piece of dough put a fun-size chocolate bar of your choice. Wrap the dough around it. Roll each sealed bundle in melted butter and place on a parchment-lined cooking sheet. Bake according to package directions. Serve warm topped with whipped cream.

I AM DELIGHTED TO REPORT that my mother has come around. I have been lobbying my mother for months to take pity on a little red squirrel who had acquired a great fondness for her, demonstrating his devotion by digging up all her flowerpots and gazing at her for minutes at a time through the window.
