WBU tops Academic All-SAC honorees

According to a recent report in the Plainview Herald, 55 athletes from Wayland Baptist University were named to Academic All-Sooner Athletic Conference for winter and spring sports in the 2018-19 season—the highest number of student-athletes honored for any SAC team. Among the honorees was Canadian High School alum and former Lady Wildcat Maci Merket, a member of the school’s Flying Queens basketball team and the daughter of Hayden and Lori Merket. Studentathletes earn academic all-conference honors by being sophomores, juniors, or seniors who produced a minimum of a 3.25 grade-point average during the previous two semesters and were regular letter winners.
