Canadian Golf Course reports tournament results

Results of the two-person, 27-hole tournament held Saturday at the Canadian Golf Course are as follows: Championship Flight: 1) Keegan Hall and Toby Davis, 94; 2) Gary Prater and Price Barton, 101; 3) Evan Prater and Chris Conner, 102. 1st Flight: 1) Brandon Stroebel and Jake Booze, 106; 2) Mitch Ashley and Russ Ashley, 110; 3) Dan Fisher and Chris Cockreham, 112. 2nd Flight: 1) RJ Vandygriff and Deb Vandygriff, 116; 2) Brett Kauk and Andy Orrell, 119; 3) Alan Witcher and Cassie Mc-Nees, 121. All scores are for a three-round combined total.

King makes hole-in-one during Thursday Night Scrambles

Bryan King was the big winner in last week’s Thursday Night Scrambles. Not only was King on the winning team that won with 9-under-par and claimed carryover winnings from June 13, he also won an undisputed claim to closest to the pin on the 17th hole—with a hole-in-one. Sharing in King’s lucky streak last week were fellow team members Shawn Davis, Derek Cooper, Chris Ford, and Blake Beedy. Levi Huntress shot closest to the pin on the 11th hole, and Evan Prater and Rachael Bartlett claimed the longest drives for the evening.

NJHFR update after Go-1

Huron, South Dakota, is hosting the National Junior High Finals Rodeo, June 23-29. After the first round, Canadian participants posted the following times/scores: In Barrel Racing, Dessa Hext turned in a time of 16.925 and Cameree Slavin posted 16.980. In Pole Bending, Dessa Hext turned in a time of 21.319. In Chute Dogging, Benny Proffitt turned in a time of 4.77. Benny Proffitt scored a 63 in Saddle Bronc Steer Riding and a 61 in Bareback Steer Riding.
