Taking on wildfire drills at the library
Body
On Tuesday afternoon, representatives from the Texas A&M Forest Service showed Summer Reading kids at Hemphill County Library their equipment used for fighting wildfires—including a big dozer parked on a trailer in front of the building (top photo). A big crowd took in two stations of firefighters outside, while inside the library, Smokey Bear was presenting a program for the smaller kids. Smokey happens to be celebrating his 75th birthday this year. Pictured with him in the photo at right is firefighter Anthony Lacario, and a Summer Reading program participant, Chris.
