Canadian ISD and Hemphill County will host a presentation, “Kids, Teens, and Technology,” by national internet safety expert Katie Greer, next Monday evening, Sept. 12, in the CMS Auditorium (Texas Crown). The presentation will begin at 6:30 pm.

Greer’s background is in law enforcement. She believes that the internet is an amazing tool that enriches lives—when it’s used properly. She has made her presentation to audiences as diverse as law enforcement agencies, large corporations, community organizations, and schools throughout North America.

“I see it as my job to make a scary thing less intimidating,” Greer said, “by equipping my audiences—young and old—with useful information that brings awareness to our relationship with technology.” Greer will share essential tips to help kids stay safe, covering such topics as: Tools parents can use to keep their children safe; cyberbullying laws; social networking (Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.); fake Instagram accounts; body image concerns; social media influencers; the latest apps; device trends; safety rules; and positive use.

The program has been endorsed by Time, USA Today, Good Housekeeping, and Parents magazine. Childcare will be provided.
