On Tuesday, June 13, representatives of the Hemphill County AgriLife Extension Ag Committee presented three checks totaling $2,500 to the Hemphill County 4-H Club, honoring the outstanding contributions of Amy and Bailey Peyton and Ginny and Randy Bailey for their contributions to the success of the April 23-24 beef cattle conference held here in Canadian. The contributions by the Peytons and Baileys made it possible to bring keynote speakers John O’Leary and Dr. Grandin to the conference. The third contribution was made possible by Dr. Grandin, who donated her speaker fees for the conference back to the Hemphill County 4-H scholarship fund. Accepting the checks were 4-H Club president Alex Smith and immediate past-president Paige Perry. Both are student leaders and incoming seniors at CISD. The checks were presented by ag commitee members Dr. Heath Hayden DVM, Justin Rader, and Craig Cowden.
