Lady Cat cross-country team runs tough in State Championship Meet

Canadian’s Lady Cats competed in the UIL State Cross-Country Championships Friday morning at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. It was the third consecutive year the Lady Cats have advanced to state as a team.
Junior Konnar McClendon led her teammates, placing 19th overall with a 12:15.3 finish on the two-mile course. She was followed by classmates Arionna Black, 58th in 12:53; Elizabeth Guerrero, 70th in 13:06.2; and Payton Lee, 124th in 13:55. Freshman runner Maile Quisenberry placed 132nd overall in 14:10.18, followed by Junior Brooklyn Beedy, 142nd in 14:37.9, and Freshman Landry Appel who completed the course 146th in 14:52.6.
The Lady Cats placed 11th overall in the team standings.
