CISD Board of Trustees announces return of Kyle Lynch as Interim Superintendent
Supt. Julia McMains resigns to accept Region 10 Educational Service Center position
A STATEMENT FROM CISD BOARD PRESIDENT HEATH MITCHELL
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to update everyone on the Superintendent position at Canadian ISD. The Canadian Independent School District Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Julia McMains at a special called meeting on August 4th. Dr. McMains will remain in the district through the end of September to ensure a smooth start to the school year. Dr. McMains has accepted a position with Region 10 Education Service Center. This will allow her to return home to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and be closer to family. We are grateful for everything she has done for Canadian ISD, and we wish her the very best. The board has been focused on steps to bring in an Interim Superintendent to make this transition as smooth as possible for our students, staff and community.
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Kyle Lynch will be returning to Canadian and serving as Interim Superintendent. Mr. Lynch worked for Canadian ISD from 1992 to 2019 and served as Special Assistant to the Superintendent from 2004 to 2010 and Superintendent of Schools from 2010 to 2019 before moving on to Seminole ISD and serving as Superintendent of Schools from 2019 to 2025.
The board is committed to ensuring a smooth transition as Mr. Lynch moves into the Interim Superintendent role. We will keep employees, families and the community informed in the months to come as we begin our next phase and the process to search for our next Superintendent. We hope all of our students and staff members have an outstanding school year and we look forward to seeing all that they accomplish as we strive for excellence with every child every day.
