Sandy Lyn Poteet, 64, of Panhandle, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at her home. A celebration of her life was held at 10 am on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Quita Jones officiating. Services were under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Sandy was born June 21, 1955, in Pampa, to Nolan Adrian Poteet and Billie Grace Burum Poteet. She was a member of TRS, the First United Methodist Church, and the Texas Association of Museums. She was an educator for over 32 years, teaching in Canadian, Groom, and Elkhart, Kansas. She loved children and loved teaching, which she felt was very important; in fact, her favorite grade to teach was first grade. She loved doing arts and crafts and was always willing to help others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Cindy Smith.

Sandy is survived by her brother, Larry Poteet, of Panhandle and her two sisters, Susan Poteet of Amarillo, and Sunni Stokes of Elk City, Oklahoma.
